Ted Roberts has written in his book, Pure Desire, “All too often, men’s lives are publicly shattered by sexual sin that has been going on secretly for years, eroding their lives from the inside out.” Our FMO group is intended for guys who are willing to join other men to experience God’s supernatural healing through accountability, truth telling and other spiritual disciplines that bring wholeness back into their lives.

Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, is the foundation on which Christianity stands. It is the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the church year because of the significance of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the events upon which Christianity is based. The apostle Paul says that without the resurrection, there is no basis for belief in Christ, and the whole belief system crumbles. Notice the contrasts he draws out in 1 Corinthians 15:17-20: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Those, then, who have fallen asleep in Christ have also perished. 19 If we have put our hope in Christ for this life only, we should be pitied more than anyone. 20 But as it is, Christ has been raised from the dead.”

Why is Good Friday referred to as “good”? What the Jewish authorities and Romans did to Jesus was definitely not good (see Matthew chapters 26–27). However, the results of Christ’s death are very good! Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” First Peter 3:18 tells us, “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.”
